"Ragged Layers" mixed media fiber art exhibit

Running with Scissors members Jackie Lams and Lynn Krawczyk will be exhibiting 27 new pieces of artwork at their show in April, Ragged Layers.

The show features work that is created using a wide variety of surface design techniques and forms of stitching.

The exhibit is being held at the Huron Valley Arts Council in Highland, MI from April 4 - April 30. (Address shown below and website is here.)

There is an opening reception on Friday April 6 from 7pm - 9pm. Please join us! :)

Thursday, April 14, I will be teaching a class for the Monroe Quilt Guild, on how to make a sunflower art quilt. Then, in the evening I'll do a lecture and trunk show. My talk is called," Habits of a Highly Productive Quilter". I will show about 70 art quilts, or more. If you are interested in art quilts, come take a look.

annual art retreat

we had our annual art retreat this weekend
and lots of creating was going on
from another amazing assemblage from sidney....



to some fun stuff emily was whipping up, showing off her credit card holders she was making for gifts....

and oh lordy this is fergus, one of kate's little pals. i love him. he is a knitter.

american sewing expo!

it's finally expo weekend!

this morning lynn, myself, emily, sidney and anne met up and hung our running with scissors

display at the expo~ it went great! we got there super early to claim our spot and got to work right away.

what a great bunch of artists we have in our group....from traditional quilters to art quilters and beyond. everyone has their own unique hand to their art and its fun to see someone's work and know immediatly who's work it is!

alot of the work was from this past year and previous years challenges we do as a group.

i hope everyone can make it out to the expo to see all our hard work we have been doing.

and this will only get better....we are already thinking of next year's challenges!
